 The
educational activities of the Sevashram are confined mainly to the
maintenance of a Medical Library, running of the Vivekananda Polyclinic
School of Nursing, Vivekananda College of Nursing and also helping the poor and meritorious students
in their pursuit of learning by giving them small stipends from
within the limited resources of the Sevashram.
To
educate the medical personnel and keep medical officers abreast
of latest trends in medical sciences, various activities have been
undertaken by the Polyclinic, such as organising clinical meetings,
seminars, workshops and annual conferences, where guest speakers
from various institutions of our country and overseas are invited
from time to time as also sending our staff to other places for
short training courses.
Surgery :
The National Board of Examination granted fresh accreditation in Surgery and permitted the Vivekananda Polyclinic, Lucknow to train one DNB Candidate. The course is of three years duration.
Medicine, Paediatrics & Anaesthesiology :
The National Board of Examination, New Delhi granted the Vivekananda Polyclinic permission to train and teach 2 DNB candidates in each subject on 27.1.05. Furthermore, they have also granted us the permission to train 2 more post diploma candidates in Paediatrics & Anaesthesiology.
Paramedical Courses :
AKN Sinha Institute of continuing Medical Education under Indian Medical Association (HQ), New Delhi, on 16.12.2004, approved Vivekananda Polyclinic, Lucknow to train 15 Medical Technology (Laboratory) and 5 Medical Radiology (X-ray and Imaging) students.
These two courses will be one and a half year’s duration followed by six months internship.
