Ramakrishna Mission Lucknow has been conducting Flood Relief operations among the worst affected flood victims of Akaria Khurd, Ladsha, Sultanpur and several other villages under Etawanja Nagar Panchayat in Bakshi Ka Talab Tehsil of Lucknow district. After distribution of dry food materials in the form of flattened rice, sugar, banana, cooked food (Puri & Sabji)/Tahri are being distributed among 3000 flood devastated people presently sheltered in temporary camps away from their marooned villages. Since the hapless people are staying in unhygienic conditions and they are affected by various water borne diseases, our Mobile Medical Team has been pressed into action for treating the flood striken patients and giving them the requisite drugs. Water purifying tablets have also been distributed for the preventive measure.

Since there is still a vast sheet of water standing on the fields around the water logged villages, the villagers are unable to return their homes until the flood water reduces which may take at least 10-15 days more. Thus, till when the relief work will have to be continued.

Interested individual or organization may extend their benevolence for the aforesaid flood relief work by sending earmarked donation through A/c Payee Cheque or Draft in favour of "Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Lucknow" to the Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Vivekananda Puram, Lucknow-226 007 which will be thankfully received and gratefully acknowledged. Donations are exempted from payment of Income Tax under Section 80 G.
